Philly Sports Update of the Week

So the Phillies are Struggling. They have dropped 4 in a row and their offense is nowhere to be found. But what do you expect when you have Michael Martinez, Pete Orr, Wilson Valdez, Dane Sardinha, and Brian Schneider in your lineup regularly. Its a shame to have no run support for the best starting pitching staff in Baseball but this seems to happen every year. However once we get Chase Utley, Carlos Ruiz, and Shane Victorino back and healthy we should be alright. Ibanez has started hitting better and John Mayberry Jr. has proven he can be a threat off the bench. Domonic Brown returned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley last night and went 1-2 with two RBI. Thats promising but I don't see Brown making any sort of impact for the Phillies any time in the near future.

The Sixers will have the 16th pick in the 2011 NBA draft which will be held on June 23rd. Click to continue reading...
The Sixers desperately need a tough center that can defend, get rebounds, and run the floor because thats the style of basketball Doug Collins instills in his players. My ideal pick for them would be Donatas Motiejunas out of Lithuania. He is a versatile 7 footer with great upside. He can score, run the floor, rebound, block shots and most importantly he can defend on the low block. Watch the video for some of his highlights and to hear his funny accent.
